Designing User centered Menu driven Java Program for File processing
(e.g., filtering, sorting, and merging) based on Java data structure
(e.g., HashMap or TreeMap)
five examples ( Ex.1 5 ) provided on this note, create a menu driven Java program which
combine the following components;
A user can choose (a) specific file(s), and the program will read/process data from
a few external files
(supporting either txt or csv format).
find/reference a website showing interesting statistical data (e.g., store locations , Statistics
Canada , Global population by continents , fatabase , NBA MVP , FIFA . Add a couple of filtering
methods to reveal interesting analytics for users.
You program also must include
sorting method (let a user choose through menu selection).
Also, a user can choose a menu option
merging files into a single sorted file . Your program must
generate an output file as well.
Must write a report.
You must include a reference (original data file location ), provide overall
description of your project, and explain the design of your algorithm and data structures you choose
in addition to adding code snippets as well as screen output (2 3 pages, use the same report
template from Project 1).
To submit your project, name your folder as
project02_yourLastnameFirstnameInitial , add all
necessary files (including java, csv or txt file format) inside this folder, and zip it. Check any error
since your submitted java/data file will be tested using Eclipse.
