Contest Brief

We are Hero Series a new obstacle course business. Alongside our adult events we are keen to create family / junior event and are looking to take our concept of an alternative physical activity option (obstacle course event) into local Primary schools. As parents and looking at a holistic approach to physical activity and health we want to create some superhero kids characters so we can include key NHS and Change for Life guidelines into our provision and promote the links between being physical active and making healthier lifestyle choices relating to sugar, 5-a-day, water intake, activity levels etc. The super hero characters would be used in marketing information, PDF information and handouts for children to take home and for the schools to use leading up to and after our involvement delivering our obstacle course event. We may also use the characters with additional family characters (adult figures) during our family focused events.
We'd like a number of modern, funky, realistic characters, male, female, a variety of ethic backgrounds, ages, child in a wheel chair etc to be inclusive. We look forward to hearing / seeing your suggestions.

Hi there, I have to get to know it again. They are real images . What kind of designs do you need? If it is possible to re-submit a specific example, it will be easier for creative purposes. Thank you.

The photo I linked gives a feel for the colours and style we are after. Kids dressed up / playing super heros in a comic / semi realistic style rather than in skin tight lycra costumes. I hope that helps with your designs

Hello, im a comic illustrator and im interested, i got 3 questions:
    1) Are you going to close early once you got one submission that you like?
    2) Are the characters semi realistic or a little "cartoonish" ?

i have seen a link that you posted below but those are photographs.

      Hi
      Good questions!
Semi realistic is the kind of illustrations we are after.
The photos I linked give a feel for the colours and design we imagine. Kids dressed up / playing super heros ratjer than kids in skin tight spandex suits.
If the right design was submitted that we loved we may consider closing the comp early

So you want us to draw a random superhero, so you can decide which art style/superhero you would like for your project.

Ages range from 5-10yrs to reflect the primary school age range. Yes kids dressed up rather than full suits. We are looking at multiple drawings (different characters) for the competition, with the aim of negotiation and working further with the winner to create chararcters in different poses etc to fit with the documentation we are creating.

Hi, great initiative, big fan of OCR myself and my kids love doing mini Mudders. I just had a question regarding styling of the characters - do you have any examples of what you'd like? And when you mention realistic, does that mean you're not wanting anything cartoon like at all?

      Hi Dave,

I was inspired by photo images of kids dressed up as superheros and was thinking of almost a comic book style version so realistic to some degree, I’ve attached one of the images link below: O hope that makes more sense of whats in my head as a concept for the illustrations?
