I need a CSS animation to create a subtle ambient effect to a website background image

Contest Brief

I'm open to several possible approaches. From a design aesthetic, I simply want an otherwise fairly stale (i.e show you lists of data) that has a background image (either a pattern or fill), but has just a touch of aliveness to it. Nothing annoying; nothing even barely noticeable.

I'm attaching images of what it looks like today; there is a blueness to it all, and that should be optimized perhaps, but I'd like to see the effect work well on most backgrounds (adding general opacity to the image is just fine and probably necessary).

The delivery should be pure CSS using animations and keyframes - no javascript, no canvas.

Initial thoughts : subtle drifting; slow moving sunlight; super, super subtle shimmer. If you want to do some patterning with our logo, I've also attached a low rez version of it (I'm not looking for the final image at all remember, just the CSS)

I have yet 0 clue on how to view your effects; I'm only allowed to see the original image with a hint of what the effect might be. If all of you could in the mean time post an animated gif of the effect, that might allow me to provide the necessary feedback.
