Illustrate an Oak tree with Character

Contest Brief

I need a drawing of a tree with character, this will then be laser cut out of layers of veneer. The veneer will also have detail etched on to the surface. The picture can only be made up of edges or line shading, so I would suggest a pen and ink drawing. I do not wish the drawing to look like a cartoon, and so feel pen and ink would be better than a vector drawing, but I am quite happy to be proved wrong.

The tree is "The Sturdy Oak"

This is the second tree in the series.
The first design was for the malevolent elm, a copy of the sketch and final card is attached.

The writing on the card will be as follows:
--------------------------------------
The Sturdy Oak

Who would you men of England be without me? Your navy were called 'The wooden walls of England', would they have stood without the oak that clad the hulls and protected the men within?

I have a stout heart and a broad reach, I'll grow bigger and live longer than any honest tree in the forest. (that does not include the churchyard where the ancient Yew hides). What child does not know the shape of my leaves, what man has not been warmed by my fire, or lady sat in an Oaken chair. What pig has not been fattened by my acorns, whose shoe-leather has not been tanned by my bark.

I am England
----------------------------------------

The drawing wants to reflect the shape of an Oak tree with it's domed canopy, - plenty of images can be found online - but the drawing needs to have a proud face within the tree and reflect the text above.

The sketch does not need a background as this will be added later.

One thought I've had is to somehow add the ghost outline of a sailing ship that was made from Oak, these were the ships that defended England and were called the 'wooden walls of England'. I will add a ship picture to the uploads.

I like the face, but nothing defines it as specifically an Oak tree

Hi, they both need to be wider, see my note above. 16 is too bity; the oak does not have separate areas of foliage.

    A clarification:
English Oak trees are known for their massive trunk and heavy limbs. Due to the strength of the timber they are able to spread very wide. They are not the tallest of trees. Therefore any final design has to be wider than it is tall.
I wish I had not put the elm sketch in the brief, as the shape of the tree is completely wrong for an Oak. the right shape of trees are 4, 7 and 16. Also acceptable are 11 and 12.

8 although the wrong shape, has a brilliant face in the bark.
15 is also great, the only ship so far, but the tree shape is wrong, it is more like a Yew tree.

This is only the second tree, I aim to have at least 12 eventually, each tree has to be the correct shape or they will all merge and not have a distinctive identity
