Contest Brief

We need a logo. We are thinking it might be nice to do a beach scene with a girl and a surfboard or stand up paddle board and our mascot
which is a west highland terrier…. our colors are blue and orange, so the water being blue and the sunset being orange…. lends itself nice….

the images i have included show you the style of illustration i like.

i included the logo i designed - but we want a new one.
perhaps combine the old logo and this new concept:

The whole concept of the Santa Cruz Challenge is about lifestyle:

health (buying local, in-season, organic, fair-trade, etc.)
active (physical movement that is outdoors mainly rather than "working out in a gym"
community - (friendship…..)
awareness (footprint on mother earth = carbon footprint_

so i like the idea that my business partner would be with her dog
and i'm in it too… that could represent community,

the surf or paddle board as the "fitness" aspect…
perhaps a recycle bin? (that might be weird -- not sure how to add something around sustainability…..

I made the changes you wanted and you give it 4 stars? may I ask why?
I also see you are leaning toward a image that did not have everything you wanted in the logo brief such as the stand up paddler.
If you do choose a design like that I think it would be unfair to the people who did everything you wanted in the brief as well as the many changes you asked for. Of course it is your context but you should said you were open to other design ideas as well to be fair to all designers..

These all look terrific! I just want to clarify ... I want a STAND UP PADDLER .. not a surfer or a surf board .. those are two different activities. We are specifically wanting a STAND UP PADDLER .. a female .. on the board, in the ocean, with the Westie on the front .. would be great if the woman was depicted in the beginning of the stroke and not just holding the paddle! I'll message each of you to tell you what I like and what could be changed! Thank you so much

We want a female on a Stand-Up Paddleboard with the dog on the board. The dog is a WESTIE. We would like orange and blue in the logo. The blue is a royal blue not a light blue. THANK YOU!! We're wanting to capture Santa Cruz lifestyle in the logo. Maybe try to leave the lady running .. or use another profile of a fitness activity like Zumba or martial arts ... or yoga ... Good luck!

i don't know the difference. all i know is that i created the logo in photoshop (i am not a designer) and those posters are from an artist. so i suppose the answer would be illustrated. you might know best.
