Contest Brief

Using the attached files as a starting point, we require a designer to take this basic design for an injection molded plastic electronics enclosure and create something which is high-tech looking (but still manufacturable). The design files you provide do not need to be fully modeled on the inside but would need to show all features on the outside which would make your design attractive to the end customer. Ultimately, the product in this enclosure would be sold in the performance automotive market (automobile racing). The work provided must be your own and cannot copy the "look" of other products already in the market.

Sealed enclosure - just to clarify that this enclosure is to be SEALED. No part of the circuit board within the enclosure will be visible to the outside. Only the connectors protrude through the side of the enclosure and they are panel-mount sealed type.

  There is no real photo. The sample rendering and file provided were our in-house first-cut at a simple functional enclosure for a new product.

Which of enclosure dimensions are important and can not be changed?

  Primarily the side height where the sample connectors protrude. If we need to tweak some dimensions once the PCB is finished, we have people that can do that - we just lack some of the "inspired creative juice" to make it look great.
