PREMIUM RIGID BOX PACKAGING FOR AN INDIAN SUPPLEMENT BRAND
We are The Proven Code, a supplement brand built on patented, clinically studied
ingredients with full disclosure dosing. We sell on Amazon India. Our positioning is
Proof Over Promises: everything we claim, we can show the paperwork for.
We need new secondary packaging, and we have given you a real brief rather than a
paragraph. Read it and you will be ahead of most entries.
WHAT WE ARE MAKING
We are moving off a magnetic gift box. It cost too much to make, took too long to
produce, and cost far too much to ship and store. The replacement is a smaller
vertical two piece box.
The structure is the only thing fixed. Everything else is yours.
- Two piece rigid board box, a lid and a base. No magnet.
- 62 mm wide by 62 mm deep by 128 mm tall. The front face is a tall narrow
rectangle, about 1 to 2.
- It opens from the top. The lid covers the top 43 mm, a third of the height, and
the lid seam crosses the front face.
- 1.5 mm grey board, wrapped, so the lid edge has visible thickness.
- A 60 capsule bottle stands inside it.
WHAT IS IN THE ATTACHED PACK
01 BRAND AND CURRENT PACKAGING
Our brand sheet with positioning, colours with hex values, typography and mark
rules. The wordmark as SVG in black, white and full colour. Photographs of the box
we are replacing and the bottle that goes inside it.
02 REFERENCES
A nine page reference book. It shows our current box, four reference packs, and what
we think is worth taking from each one. There is also a list of seven more brands
with links.
03 BRIEF
The full brief as a PDF.
Work through the reference book before you design anything. It tells you what we
think good looks like and, more usefully, why. Designers who skip it tend to send us
the same generic supplement box we already rejected.
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
Design mockups
TO ENTER
- The front panel, flat, at actual size, 62 by 128 mm.
- One render of the closed box standing upright with the bottle beside it.
- JPG or PNG, at least 2000 px on the long edge.
You do not need to produce the full dieline to enter. Show us the thinking on the
front panel first.
FROM THE WINNER
- Full dieline artwork for both components: lid wrap, base wrap, lid top, base
bottom.
- 3 mm bleed on every wrap edge, 15 mm turn in top and bottom.
- CMYK, 300 dpi, all fonts outlined.
- Print, foil, deboss and any die cut on separate named layers.
HOW WE WILL JUDGE
- How it reads at 400 px on a white background. That is the size an Amazon search
result gives it.
- Whether it still reads across a room.
- Whether it can actually be printed: how many inks, how much foil area, how many
separate components. A beautiful design that doubles our unit cost does not win.
- Whether it looks like the same brand as the products in the brand sheet.
RULES
- Do not copy any of the reference packs. They are in the pack to show a standard,
not to be reproduced.
- No stock images of other brands' packaging in your entry.
- We will ask the winner for the working file. Entries we cannot open and edit will
not be paid.
- Full copyright and usage rights transfer to Nuvea Essentials (OPC) Private Limited
on award.
We answer every question in the comments, and we post any revision to the brief there
too so everyone sees it at the same time. Good luck.
NOTE: PLEASE REFER TO THE REFERENCES OF MITOPURE, LYMA, SEED, MIDUTY, AND OTHER BRANDS WITH MINIMAL AND BOLD PACKAGING. USE ONLY WHITE COLOUR BACKGROUND IN THE BOX. AGAIN, IT SHOULD BE MINIMAL AND BOLD. WE DONT WANT CHEAP MESSY PACKAGING WITH TENS OF DETAILS- MINIMAL AND BOLD IS WHAT WE WANT.
EDIT 1: after seeing so many entries that were guided in the wrong direction and so many AI slops that were either too messy or just not our product and not aligned with our ideas, we are attaching 10 more visual design references for you.
They depict the minimalism, the bold character, and the confident yet classy vibe of packaging that we want. We don't want needo packaging for this, something which can stand out. It need not contain every detail about the product. We can put that into the back side also. The front side, I wanted minimal.
Plus, something which can stand out when 10 products are there, something which can look good when you put it in your hand. I don't want 10 different pieces of information on it. Very few, very few, very, very few pieces of information. Even if you don't put our logo in it, I am okay with that also. Up to you.
EDIT 2: since many of the entries are still not moving towards the kind of designs we want, I am attaching a reference design which I made for The Proven Code clean label berberine packaging. Something like that is what we wanted.
