Contest Brief

Hi all

I need to have a WinForms Label control with Background Opacity (Transparency).
As you see in the attached picture, I need to be able
to place the label over some controls. The controls
behind have to be visible, depending on a Opacity level (0 to 100)
they are more or less visible.
The text on this control has to be clearly visible.
The text must support multiline and will be updated after the control is painted.

I expect to get a visual studio project with a UserControl.
When I compile it, I need to be able to add the control
in any C#.Net WinForms Application.

I know there is no very quick solution for that,
but I guess for somebody good (maybe win API or C++)
this should not be a too big thing :-)

Thanks and good luck

I have posted my entry , but will suggest to go for WPF instead of WinForms for such effect.

This is tricky. I know that in WinForms only Form has transparency nothing else. In order to make a label trick is to make a borderless form with label filling it. Downside is you are creating a Form object just to show label. I don't know of anything else to make it fast and fulfill the requirements. As someone here stated it you can use GDI+ but I think that would mean writing control froms scratch.
