Contest Brief

Thanks for looking. This should be fun and allow for creativity for you while still giving you an idea of the type of result we want. There will also be plenty of banner ad work for the winner if they want it.

The site is about money... fixing credit, building credit, how to make more money, how to get a loan. The things most people need to take action on NOW. This is not about wall street.

The logo should:
- Have easy to read text.
- The only text: MainstreetMoney.Pro
- The text can be written withnospaces, or as separate words.
- Letter case is not important as long as the URL is clearly understandable.
- Be one or two colors. ('black or white' and 'something else'.)
- It should work in black/white or black/grey too for our print needs.

Things we know we like:
- Streetsigns (think 'Seaseme Street') . Outlines of streetsigns (like of a pole with two signs as you'd see at a corner). The words being the message (keep the graphics simple). Maybe the 'S' as an '$' if colored like '.PRO' ...whatever. Have fun with it.

- The URL is the company name: MainstreetMoney.Pro
- The contest is for a logo only.
- The logo styles we like are: Word mark ('CocaCola' script), Pictoral mark (Coke bottle next to 'CocaCola' script), and Emblem (Harley Davidson)..
- The final product must be provided both as a layered PSD file and an AI or EPS version.
- The logo will be used on branding efforts (lots of banner ads) and the website itself.
- This is (of course) work for hire under US law. All rights to the work are given to us, the buyer, should we award you, the designer, the contest and Freelancer complete the award payment for this contest. You may (of course) still show the logo and/or reference our URL as part of your portfolio if you wish.

Thank you guys very much, and we're looking forward to the designs!

Employer Feedback

“We're really happy with Razwan's work. Excellent job adapting to what we wanted, patient with the sometimes difficult process of turning words into graphics. We'll definitely hire him again for our banner ads and other site work. Thank you.”

amin90 - The thing that's great about your goyette and j hoyden and others are the that graphics are very related to the topic. I see you tried to do that here but maybe needed more specifics. ...Try using a streetsign instead of a $. Or use the letters M and M in an interesting way (such as you did with the j in the box). Anyway. There are a couple of you providing entries that even if not selected, you guys are very talented indeed and we'll keep your names on file. We're impressed!

#18 - The middle one is the one to work on. Toss the top and bottom options.
(The top is too much color and the bottom I don't like the 't')

    #18 - Wow. Now we're talking.
I'd try mainstree with a thicker line (or slim the streetsigns a bit). AND/OR try pushing 'Money.Pro' over and extending the signpost down.

amin90 - let me gather some of your other work I liked and comment in a bit.

#3 and #8 both have a lot of promise; but as you can see I'll readily give anyone feedback that submits an entry. Please get your ideas in; even a sketch on paper and a picture of it via cell phone work to show a concept. Have a great rest of the weekend (if it isn't Monday where you live already. : )

In general: The words are the message. The graphic an accent. ...so don't let the graphic get larger than say twice (give or take) the height of the capital letters.

#8 - I liked the width of the Red Thread design much better. Here the words are too stacked to have the same quality space and feel. Try it all in black except for the streetsign and .Pro Also... a streetsign, not a lantern. Like the shadow of this: http://portlandmonthlymag.com/data/images/2012/7/image/4210/street-sign.jpg

Heh. Timezones... I go to bed and y'all post. ; ) Thank you.

I'll always review and comment. Question: Are the numbers I see for each design the same as the numbers you see?
That is: If you submit one design, if it's number #8 to me, and I comment about #8, do you know that's yours?

#7 - No. To 'cartoon' with the graphics being too much.
#6 - The graphic is too big relative to the text. But it's simple, and that's good. A little space between Mainstreet and Money might be good, or use smaller caps for the letters other than the 'M's.
#5 - The coloring is good. Try not a lantern on top, just a streetsign as the t (so make the graphic much smaller). If the t is a streetsign, then maybe 'Money.Pro' below instead.

#3 - I like the simplicity here. The graphic above isn't one I like though (and a graphic above should not have a shadow to me). Could you try something with a streetsign (either there, or off to one side of the text)?

    Thank you guys very much.

#1 - Brush script isn't usually easy to read; the I and E are very lacking on this one and the '.PRO' was just tacked on.
Make logos black and one other color or white and one other color. Not three.
