Contest Brief
I'm a saxophonist and singer, and have started a funk and blues band named SaxWest. We are based on the sunny Gulf Coast of Florida, and distinguish ourselves from our competition with the saxophone-playing frontman. We would like a simple logo that includes a stylized saxophone and a compass rose with the name SaxWest as the South-Western marking on the compass rose, perhaps as if it was being played by the saxophone from within the compass rose.

Thank you for your work on this contest, everyone! So far, our ratings indicate that we like simple, clean design that accurately conveys the ideas expressed in the brief. Since we are located on the sunny Gulf Coast of Florida, we are considering the inclusion of sunshine, beach, or tropics into this logo. It may be stylized, or a partial sun arching around part or all of the design. Thanks, again.

Thank you for the early submissions, everyone! With the orientation of North on the compass rose in the usual forward/overhead position, the words in this logo will probably be placed to the left of the image, which is okay.
