Logo for an Argentine Tango Festival (No show tanago!)
- Status: Closed

This is a contest for a logo for one of the largest festivals of Argentine Tango in the U.S., the Albuquerque Tango Festival. You can find us online. The logo should include the words "Albuquerque Tango Festival" and our website, [login to view URL]
The logo should in some way incorporate some aspect of Argentine Tango such as the close embrace that we use when we dance. I have uploaded a number of photos of people dancing Argentine Tango, so you can see what it actually looks like.
What I am going to say no is VERY IMPORTANT! In popular culture there are a number of images, or icons, associated with tango that come from show tango, or ballroom dance. I have included several of these images with the "no" or "banned" symbol. Do not use anything like this or I will quickly reject the submission! These images are cliched and they have absolutely nothing to do with the way we dance authentic Argentine tango at festivals such as ours. Save yourself time. DO NOT submit images of couples doing lounges or dips or similar!
If you want to familiarize yourself with what some of the very top dancers of Argentine tango look like, I would suggest going to YouTube and watching performance by Carlitos Espinoza and Noelia Hurtado. That would be a good way to see what the line, embrace, and posture of this dnce look like.
Ideally the winning logo would be used on our web site and in printed material such as programs. It would read both in color and black and white.
Things to avoid: Red and black color concept. It is very cliched and unoriginal. Men in fedora hats. It is cliched and not original. People dancing ballroom or other dances beside close embrace Argentine Tango. It shows you have not fully read or understood the description.
