My 16 year old son is starting a not for profit organization to serve two "voiceless" populations - the homeless and children with ADHD. While these are seemingly DIFFERENT audiences, they are both his passion and speaks to the work he wants to do now and into the future. He is currently getting high school credit and advisory in the building of his organization.
It's now time for him to create a logo. The design guidance is limited, as he's young and only "knows it when he sees it", but here's what I can offer:
Name: Pleabians Tribune
Slogan: "A voice for the voiceless" (to be added in one version of the logo)
Color: Purple (rich royal color) and gold (open to third color if necessary)
The name goes back to Roman history. Plebians were considered second class citizens that could not own property, nor were they counted in the census. The Tribunes were "caregivers" to the Plebians and ensured their safety. In my son's mind, the homeless and youth struggling with ADHD/ADD are the modern day Plebians and he wants to erect modern day Tribunes to support these populations. With that said, perhaps the design can give a nod to a modernized historical Roman look. I also think designing a forward thinking logo that may be adapted to 'P'T may be smart since the name is so long.
That's it! So, little direction is either a GREAT thing, or a nightmare (smile) for you creatively.
