Contest Brief

THE COMMITTEE HAS RANKED THEIR FAVORITES WITH 4 OR 5 STARS. YOU CAN SEE THE ELEMENTS THAT THEY LIKE (DOG TAGS, STARS, SILHOUETTES).

The winner of this contest will receive a receipt for a $200 in-kind donation in addition to the prize money. We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit.

How do we thank our veterans? By remembering them.

Name: Historical Outreach Foundation (HOF). Our name doesn't fully describe what we do - we need a logo that helps. We are the fundraising foundation for:

1. Historical educational classroom presentations (www.historicaloutreach.com)
2. Oregon Military Museum (www.oregonmilitarymuseum.org)
3. Oregon WWII Memorial (www.oregonwwiimemorial.com)
4. Veterans Legacy Project (www.veteranslegacies.com)

Logo must be simple, simple, simple. It should look good in two-tone (b&w), but simple colors are OK. It should be easy to use on many different mediums (paper, website, clothing, banners, etc.). It should communicate our mission to honor men and women who served in the military by collecting, preserving and sharing their experiences.

Ideas: military symbols, dog tags, patches, uniforms

Initials can be incorporated (HOF).

Don'ts: drop shadows, too much detailing-or anything that complicates the logo, weapons are ok if appropriate (we honor the soldier's service, but don't glorify war)

Keywords to get your mind moving: Service, honor, gratitude, history, military, remembering

#193 If you have all that experience that you say you do yo do not present to a client a logo with pixelated areas!I mean if it would be a vector logo created by a professional this can not even happen!Look at all the pixels above HOF!!!!

I also like the dogtags on two chains, it is more accurate. Older tags have a notch on the bottom.

Most of these look very "Army" to me. I'd like to see some more with the yellow ribbon, poppy, dog tags or eagles in them. I also do like some color, the b&w is very stark.
