Contest Brief

Ernst Westphal is a well reputated watch material house in Hamburg. Our current logo can be viewed at www.ernst-westphal.de. We want to improve this logo into a more modern style, while maintaining the traditional attitude of the company.

Our main business is the supply with accessoeries and parts for high grade watches so all actions aroud luxury and high-grade watches have a great influence of what we are doing.

The new company logo should carry the traditional company attitude together with our well reputed service, on of our customer target groups are all bearers of luxury and high grade watches.

It is very important that - if the logo is designed colorized - that it is still pirintable by a b/w laser printer by maintaining the color in grey scale.

The current slogan "Passion for watches. Since 1898" must be maintained.

Hi Artists,

I am very impressed by the suggestions having received, thank you very much indeed. There are some minor mistakes in some samples like

- hand lengths are not proportional hour/minute (hour should approx. 66% length of the minute hand)
- hand postions are not accurately positioned when showing the time
- bezel position with twelve o'clock marker at the top must be maintained
- when using the RLX bezel shape the RLX mercedes style hands should be used too as these two shapes belong together

Nevertheless I am very impressed and looking forward the the end of the contest.

The attached RLX style watch components (examples) can be part of the logo as they are indicating well known viusal componenzts of famous luxury watches
