Contest Brief

Lorax (From Dr. Seuss) riding a winged blue shell (from Mario Kart) chasing (a or the) RoadRunner. With vague background/environment to fill the whitespace. Ideally looks like concept art.

Yes, this is seriously what I want. It's an inside joke to celebrate a completed project. But, I would like it to look great as this is a major achievement for the contributors.

Deliverable is digital file in PNG format with a resolution sufficient to be printed on a 19.75 inch x 27.5 inch sheet in CMYK and framed in an IKEA RIBBA Frame in landscape orientation (which will remove some of the border)

Edits:
1. I can tell the difference between a sketch in a concept art style and something quickly thrown together by pasting some images together in Photoshop.

2. The weirdness of the confluence of all these characters is that they are internal names given to parts of a mathematical equation. If we use equations in the background or have an otherwise mathy background that would be nice.

3. I would like the contributors to sign the printouts later. I am glad to see entries that make use of some entry space around the edges that could be used as areas to collect signatures.

4. A lot of questions about desired style. I'm less concerned with the style than that it be stylistic and done well. I'm a fan of shading/lighting, and attention to detail. 5. Several concepts appear to have Lorax with a spike up his butt. Please avoid this pose.

6. At 600 dpi the resolution requirements would be 11850 x 16500 (1200 dpi would be twice that)

7. Given the multiple high quality submissions, I am considering awarding multiple entries. Please put reasonable/low budgets on your entries so I can afford to select a couple more in addition to the main award.

  I replied to #24. I really like the composition, but it could do with a paintover in a consistent style. You are headed in the right direction though.

  Pro tip: The reason some entries have been rated poorly is that they did not have a piece of art in a coherent style. They copy-pasted a few things into an image and called it good. I'm much more amenable to the entries that submit a sketch first and suggest a style to paint over it than the ones submitting something copy-pasted.

  I like "concept art", but doing it in any style you are comfortable with would be great, even if you apply a unique style of your own. I'd rather have a piece of art in any style than the copy-paste jobs that people submitted so far. I'm also willing to take a look at a quick sketch and have you give some options for what it would be filled out to completion to approve if that helps.
