FOODVERSE | LOGO DESIGN BRIEF
Woksticks
Pan Asian wok tossed street food | Delivery first | United Kingdom
1. About the Brand
Woksticks is a UK based delivery focused Pan Asian street food brand.
It operates primarily on Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat as part of the Foodverse multi brand kitchen platform.
The menu focuses on:
Wok tossed noodles
Wok tossed rice
Stir fried proteins (chicken, beef, prawn, tofu, veg)
Pan Asian flavour profiles
Sides such as gyoza, spring rolls, prawn toast and crispy chicken
This is a modern delivery food brand. It is not a traditional sit down restaurant identity. It must feel contemporary, energetic and scalable across multiple UK kitchens.
2. Brand Personality
The brand should feel:
Bold and punchy
Fast and energetic
Street food driven
Modern and urban
Flavour packed
A little playful, with confidence
It should not feel:
Traditional or restaurant heritage heavy
Childish or cartoonish
Generic Chinese takeaway
Overly ornate or decorative
Corporate or tech style
Woksticks is built for the modern UK delivery customer. Young professionals, students, families ordering a hot, comforting wok box at lunch or dinner. The brand should feel like the kind of place you spot on an aggregator and instantly want to order from.
3. Design Direction
The logo must:
Be highly legible at small sizes (delivery thumbnails are small and busy)
Work strongly on dark backgrounds
Work cleanly in black and white
Avoid thin lines and fine detail that disappear when scaled down
Feel modern, bold and instantly recognisable
Avoid:
Dragons, pagodas, temples, cherry blossoms
Decorative oriental or chop suey style typography
Cartoon Asian chefs, mascots or kawaii characters
Generic chopstick clipart that feels stock or templated
Smiley wok faces or overly cute illustration
Heavy cultural cliches that any takeaway could use
We want modern Pan Asian street food energy, not a traditional Chinese restaurant identity.
4. Name Treatment
The logo must include the name:
WOKSTICKS
The name is one word. It plays on wok (the cooking method) and chopsticks (how the food is eaten). Designers are welcome to find creative typographic ways to highlight this duality, for example treating the W or the K as a structural anchor, or working chopsticks subtly into a letterform. This is encouraged but not required.
Typography should feel strong, confident and contemporary. The wordmark must read clearly even at thumbnail size.
5. Icon
An icon or symbol is required.
The icon should:
Work alongside the wordmark and also stand alone
Be simple, bold and scalable
Be recognisable at small size
Not rely on detailed illustration
Feel original, not stock
Visual cues designers can explore (not mandatory):
A stylised wok silhouette
A flame or sizzle curl
Chopsticks used as a structural or directional element
A noodle strand or steam wisp treated as a graphic device
A monogram built from W and S
Keep it clean, scalable and unique. The strongest icons in this category feel like a clear single idea, not a busy illustration.
6. Colour Direction
Open to exploration. Suitable directions may include:
Deep red or chilli red
Burnt orange or amber
Hot pink or electric magenta as a modern accent
Jade or wasabi green
Charcoal or near black as a strong base
Warm cream or off white for contrast
The brand should feel warm, flavour led and full of appetite.
Avoid:
Pastel tones
Cold corporate blues
Faded or washed out palettes
The final palette must stand out clearly on delivery platforms (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat) where thumbnails appear on white, beige and dark backgrounds.
7. Deliverables Required
The designer must deliver a full professional logo pack.
Logo Variants:
Primary horizontal logo
Stacked vertical version
Icon only
Favicon
Reversed version (white on colour)
Black and white version
File Formats:
AI
EPS
SVG
PDF (CMYK)
PNG (transparent background)
JPG (RGB)
Include the full colour palette with HEX codes.
Strict requirements:
Original work only
No AI generated template logos
No stock icon usage
No copied or modified existing brand marks
8. Application Context
This logo must work strongly on:
Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat thumbnails
Foodverse website brand grid (sits alongside Greek Me, Chohee, WoW Tacos, The Shawarma Co, Casa Mexicana)
Digital menus and aggregator hero images
Packaging stickers and box labels
Franchise pitch decks and marketing collateral
The winning design will understand that this is a delivery first brand, not a sit down restaurant identity.
9. What We Value in a Designer
Strong understanding of food and beverage brands
Experience designing for delivery first concepts
Clean, scalable logo systems built to live across multiple touchpoints
Ability to balance bold street energy with commercial polish
Woksticks is part of Foodverse, a scalable multi brand delivery platform currently operating across five London sites with rapid expansion planned. This logo must feel commercially strong, not experimental art. We are building a brand that will scale, so the identity needs to hold up at thumbnail size, on packaging, and across franchise locations for years to come.
10. Existing Foodverse Brand Marks
To ensure Woksticks has its own distinct identity, please avoid replicating the visual styles already in use across the Foodverse portfolio. Existing brands include Greek Me, Chohee, WoW Tacos, The Shawarma Co, Casa Mexicana, Habibi Doner and Momo Mama. Each has its own personality and we want Woksticks to sit comfortably within the family while standing on its own.
