Contest Brief
Hello everyone,
We are looking for a modern website design that can be adapted for a local community website. The website will feature the following pages:
- Classifieds
- Public Auctions (similar to buy, swap & sell)
- Articles & News published by the site admins
- A forum for the website users to talk about "what's new"
- A voting section for website users to vote on popular topics
These are just a sample of what we plan to host on the website, so the project may need additional pages designed at a later date. We are not expecting a full website mockup for the price we are offering, we're just interested in the homepage for now. If you are the chosen designer, we will use you at a later date to design the other pages (in the coming days/weeks).
The homepage is the most crucial part of all of this, as it will need to integrate parts of the website. At the moment, we're thinking of showing admin news articles at the top, followed by some latest shop items. To the right, in a sidebar, will be a newsletter signup, sample posts for the "what's new" section and a summary if the latest vote and it's results in a graph.
It's important that the site has a modern aspect to it, the site needs to look beautiful *and* functional. I know that is a difficult task, so we will be primarily looking at your designing skills and if your mockup isn't exactly what we want, we know that you will have the skills required to tweak aspects of the design to align with what we need. To give you an example of what we mean by modern design, please look at the examples below. DO NOT COPY ASPECTS FROM THESE WEBSITES. We are using them as samples to show you the quality of design we need, there should be sections for parallax and for content to "fly in" from the left/right (we will code that ourselves). At the top, as a header, a cover image would be great (a large hero item) but something that also shows off some products being listed in the store. This is the *only* key aspect we require (and we have placed the requirement in this paragraph on purpose). If your design does not feature a header image (cover image) and something that lists a small amount of products being sold on the website, we will reject the template for you to try again.

We ignore freelancer prizes like exams, etc. Every bidder has an equal chance and we really mean that.
Thanks for your interest everyone!
