An important note:
There are some people who simply search for icons on istockphoto or similar and post them here as their own. This is NOT what I need. I will remove such entries.
I want to have very nice, easy to recognize icons designed.
These icons are for handicapped people who can not speak due to a disease (for example motoric problem or autism or similiar).
When a handicapped person can not speak, he points at an icon to express what he wants to say.
For example, when he wants to express that he needs something to drink, he points on an icon which shows a person who drinks something.
However, handicapped people might have problems understanding things and need clearity. So it is very important that the icons are easy to recognize.
Please take a look at the attached image "template1.png"
On top of "template1.png", I show icons.
These icons are from a collection of icons designed especially for handicapped people.
They are VERY easy to understand even when somebody is cognitively impaired.
They have clear colors and a big, black border, and the faces are very expressive.
I want to copy these icons but in a more elegant style.
But the new icons must still be so easy to recognize.
I know this is difficult task.
I have over 1000 icons that I want to re-design like this.
But I don't know what a good solution could look like.
That is why I post this contest.
To give you some ideas, I have attached "nice-design.png".
This is what I consider nice. But the problem is that at small size, they are hard to recognize.
I am open to ANY new idea.
The important thing is that they must look nice and are very easy to recognize.
Please do not copy contest entries which I give a good rating.
When you post entries, please insert your images in "template1.png" and post your edited version of "template1.png" so that there is a direct comparison and so that you do not make the icons bigger than what I allow.
