Contest Brief

Hi Freelancers,
I am looking for someone to redesign our logo and bring the WOW effect into it. A few previous rough versions are attached as well as a sample of the colours I like.
The logo is for a bookkeeping company called “The Local Bookkeeper”. My requirements are listed below:
1. Must be Simple.
2. Should strives to be unique, recognizable and/or memorable.
3. Would like to incorporate some cogs or gears (that don’t look like daisies). I really like the cogs used here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=646335495386871&set=a.201137713239987.44614.192933037393788&type=1&theater
4. Only if possible, will fit well on rectangle and square - OR at least, designed with that type of future adjustment or responsiveness in mind because some online directories require 100 x 100 pixel sizing.
5. Only if possible, make a good impression in color and grey-scale,
6. From marketing stand point, since the financial industry is a bit conservative, I'd like to stay safe(ish) without any "off the wall creativity" but will consider it if it's clever and good.
