Revamp an old logo to be more modern

Contest Brief
I am looking for a more simplified modern version (with the fading taken out of the "TASMAN" - please see attached file).
I would like to keep it sort of the same format with circles etc.
If you could re-design this logo without the fading in the TASMAN that would be great

I agree with you... but we cannot do anything about it. it's the contest holder's decision... Let's just be glad we were included to those entries that he rated with high points.

Hello, thank you for your comments and thank you so much for all the hard work you've put in! In the end a friend approached me with a logo that i decided to run with instead, the winner ended up being picked only because i thought the logo deserved it. It was modernized, was still to the brief and he used his initiative to make the "M" electrical which gave it a nice style because it is for a electrical company. i do apologies for the inconvenience its caused and i hope you will win your other contests, you all deserve it.

Feedback please on #23 . I have recreated it with modern 3D look. The ring and map is now embossed. On the contrary to your original logo (where the land is blue and the sea is green), I have reversed the color. The shadow of the text has been removed but a reflection of the shadow is added. I hope you will like it, but if you need further modification, please just ask.
