Seeking UK engineers to collaborate on design & build of radical, minimalist 2 seat EV (Start-up)

Contest Brief

I'm the founder of a startup in Edinburgh. Over the last 3 years I've worked alone developing a multi-speed gearbox for ebikes. For a number of years I have also been developing a design concept: a small, low drag & lightweight 2 seat battery powered EV.

The goal: to develop an affordable (£10-15k MSRP) mode of transport which achieves ultra low kWh/km compared to existing EV's (and therefore extremely low CO2/Km), and has sufficient range for extra-urban trips (eg ~200 miles). I would envisage this being developed to prototype stage, then crowdfunded, leading to production of a low volume production car, manufactured in the UK.

To achieve the range without large (heavy & costly) batteries the car has to be kept small, super lightweight and have a very aerodynamic (ie teardrop like) form. Along similar lines to these concepts:

So far I've done the following work:
· developed an accurate physics model in excel, to predict 0-60, top speed and range based on various input parameters (mass, CdA, motor power/torque/rpm etc). I have validated the model by plugging in numbers for existing production EV's.
· extensively researched motors, batteries and controllers, and obtained quotes for these parts and various other relevant parts.
· drawn up a concept in Solidworks. Layout, chassis design, battery design and transmission design are fairly well developed, however bodywork certainly needs some work!

To get it off the ground, I'm considering applying for funding from Innovate UK to develop and build a proof of concept. Looking for like minded, self motivated, enthusiastic people interested in getting involved in a collaborative way on a 12 month project.

Specifically looking for people with experience of project management and working in start-ups. On the engineering side, ideal skills wish list would be: bodywork design, running CFD simulations, working in composites (ideally hands on) and car design standards & regs.

I plan to match fund the project myself (ie Innovate UK put in 70% of project costs, I put in 30%). So there are different ways you could be involved:
1) purely as a paid sub-contractor
2) as an paid employee
3) as a co-founder (meaning you would also be willing to invest in exchange for equity)

Just thought initially I'd throw it out there on here and see what the response/feedback is!
