Contest Brief

Every 68 seconds, there is a sexual assault in America (the Unitred States). We have started a new non-profit organization with a mission of supporting survivors of sexual assault by giving them a public voice to inform people and raise awareness about the extent of this problem. It is called the "Every 68 Seconds Project".

We are only a month or so old, and do not have any outside funding yet. I am paying for everything out of my personal funds. I am hoping to find a designer that can relate to our cause and will help create a logo for a very reasonable price. The logo will be used primarily on social media to help recognize the organization and mission.

One vision that has been proposed is a clock or stopwatch that illustrates the 68 seconds, but we do not want to limit the ideas if you have a different concept that works. We would like the logo to help convey how frequently this occurs. Every 68 Seconds is 53 new sexual assaults every hour of every day. We frequently use #every68secondsproject.

The color representing Sexual Assault (SA) Awareness in the US is teal. I have attached a file that shows the most frequently seen tone. It is NOT a requirement to use this color, but it's one option.

Also, the project is currently portraits of SA survivors. A sample can be seen here: https://brianfry.format.com/every68seconds . We are using the term Art Activism. There is NO REQUIREMENT to use these ideas of "Art Activism" or photography, but they are available related concepts. Other themes that are relevant to our mission include: stopping rape, empowering women, fighting "rape culture" in the U.S., and supporting survivors. We are not limited to supporting women. We support rape victims of all genders. We do NOT consider the localization to the United States to be a defining characteristic, as we hope to expand outside of the U.S. in the future.

We would like delivery to include the final Vector file(s) and font files for any fonts that appear in the final design.

Thank you for your consideration. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I am adding some additional elements to help potential designers.

* We like the color palette that I have posted, using the three primary color blocks at the top. #6840ac #9333a7 #2fe3e0

* I have included an illustration of clock styles we like to represent the time element. The hands of the clock are not essential, so much as the general allusion to a clock or watch face.

* We like clean looking san serif fonts for type elements.

* The design MUST include "Every 68 Seconds". The "Project" is optional, so you may present designs with or without it.

* Any representation of people that is included should be androgynous, or gender-neutral.

* It would be helpful to show designs in color, black on white, and white on black.

* The winning design *MUST* include vector files and font files of the final design, as well as color values of all colors that are used. If you cannot provide these, please withdraw your entry.

Alaa, I like your effort and creativity, even though you do not have any history on the platform. I would like to give you some feedback, and hope that we can create a logo together that will work for us and award you for the effort. I don't think I can send files to you individually, only post to the project. We have decided on a color pallette that we like - I will upload that to the project. It's not mandatory to use, but the logo should at least complement the branding.

We like the central figure in #32 that you first posted and #103 & 105 -- That idea. We like a more gender neutral. (I'm sure your English is better than my Arabic, سلام, but if you don't understand, please let me know.) The project supports all genders. While most victims are women, we want the silhouette/logo to be neutral to represent all victims. I don't like the head on #103. I like #105 figure the best, if we could reshape the head to make it more gender-neutral, ambiguous. (Out of space. I will continue.)

(#2) The silhouette figure could even be in profile (sideways), like #96. We like the circular element that alludes to time/a clock. I am going to post some files that show other representations of a clock from a side angle. I'm thinking the silhouette figure as the center of the circle, angled more like what I will post and the Project name intersecting the clock and extending out the right side... Like the lower right quarter, between 3:00 and 6:00.

Finally for the font, we like a cleaner, more modern, san serif font. Closer to what is used in #88 , #106, #47, #110. Omit the additional line "No need for sexual assault."

I hope you find this feedback helpful. Do not feel limited to what I have described, but I would really like to see someone attempt to show this. Thank you for your efforts.
