Contest Brief

Seeking Some Visual Designers

Brief: We are looking for a mockup, layout and visual ideas only on 4 basic pages and layouts. The SharePoint project is for a document management system to be used by scientists and managers in the pharmaceutical industry.

The three pages are as follows:
1) Main site screen
a. The main site will be where users will login and have their company’s navigation. I have included a couple of proposed ideas of what this COULD look like. But would rather get fresh ideas from you.
2) User’s home screen
a. After the user clicks on MyFASTTRACK they will go to their own home screen that can be customized to show current work they are completing. That work could be a document, a task or series of projects. What is important is for the user to have the ability to access their most frequent work (a link/bookmark) and customize this space to their needs.
3) Users workspace
a. This is a highly functional page where the user is doing their work, think of it as a desk top where you check the doc out and check it in having done some work on it. This work space should be highly functional – yet through design maintaining the elements of health, life, calm, peace and ch’i
4) Publishers workspace
a. This is similar to the user workspace but is more detailed.

This is why we seek your ideas: We are not designers, nor are our programmers. But we can make ideas happen. We want to have a visually attractive design with a sensible layout that follows basic principles of harmony found in Feng shui:
• Reduction of straight lines
• Use of curves and natural imagery
• An simple and easy flow of eye and movement
• Color palette to consider: Blue, Black, Brown, Green and White/Grey. Yellow or sandy palette for Earth. Here is a link for more information. http://fengshui.about.com/od/fengshuicures/qt/fengshuicolor.htm

What we need are 4 design comp pages of the above. It should show the layout of the page, links and flow. We are looking for the layout of these pages and MOST IMPORTANT: and aesthetically please design scheme that we can implement. Please provide PSD of pages and the HEX or PANTONE of the colors used.
I have included a sample layout as jpg that tells you what the areas of each page represent. Please do not copy what we have done (unless you think it is the right layout idea). It is only a representation of a possible layout. Also included is our logo, a “sample client logo”, pantone for company logo and font designation.
Best design gets the contest cash.

Thank you to everyone that participated in this contest. Sorry for the delay but we have a large company and it takes time for all stakeholders to report. I wanted to split the prize, but the rules state only one winner. So our company polled who to win and was awarded. Thanks again.
