Contest Brief

The Civic Club of the Southgate Neighborhood would like a new logo. This is in conjunction with building a new website and rebranding. Here is our current site: http://www.houstonsouthgate.org/. You can find out about the neighborhood on the site.

The logo should emphasize the location of the neighborhood (in the middle of Houston, Texas, USA, gateway to Rice University and the Medical Center, Museum District), the family atmosphere, and be upscale but not pretentious.

We are adjacent to Rice University, Houston Medical Center, and Houston Museum District. We have a lot of Live Oak Trees, walking trails, cottage homes, Azalea flowers, etc... The neighborhood is one of the most established in Houston.

Logo must contain the words "Southgate" and an alternate version containing the words "Southgate" and "Civic Club" for specific civic club use.

To clarify - we would like this to be a neighborhood logo, not a business logo. Perhaps incorporating some green, as we have a lot of large oak trees. Like the idea of incorporating a gate, but don't have to have that. We are a traditional, cottage, neighborhood.
