Help me bring a client's logo into the 21st century!

Recently a longtime client asked us to update their old outdated website with a new version. (along with other stuff)
As part of the work I thought I would spruce up their logos a bit so I thought I would see what you guys can do. This is my first project on here so I thought I would start with something simple.

Task:
- Create New Logo Ideas from the existing ones posted here.
- Feel free to be creative. Client says if I update it, it doesn't need to look the same.
- Colors: Blue or a combination of other things. Nothing specific.
- Look and Feel: Corporate
- What client does: They provide robotic and machine management software for manufacturing companies.

What I am looking for in the end:
- Artwork I can use on website, other identity
- Vector Based Ideally, but lets see what you come up with...

I am impressed with some your postings. However I do wonder what kind of software your using to create multiple rendering at angles, etc. Please share :)
