Contest Brief

Create a Vintage 1950s-Inspired Homemade Cookies Logo: The Better Butter Cookie Company

Design a logo that captures the nostalgia of 1950s homemade cookies, complete with a whimsical character reminiscent of classic TV shows like "Bewitched" and "I Love Lucy," follow these detailed instructions to bring my vision to life.

Step 1: Conceptualize Logo

Step 1 Envision a whimsical character inspired by "Bewitched" and "I Love Lucy," dressed in 1950s attire, holding a mixing bowl. This character will be the centerpiece of my logo, representing the essence of old-fashioned homemade cookies.

Step 2: Draw the character with the desired 1950s hairstyle, dress, and headscarf, ensuring they are holding a mixing bowl. This initial sketch will serve as your blueprint.

Step 3: Character Design

a. The character's face is my face from images attached, ensuring it resembles your envisioned 1950s-inspired look. Pay attention to facial features, such as the eyes, nose, and mouth, and add details like rosy cheeks for a touch of charm.

b. Design the character's hair in the style of "I Love Lucy" with a headscarf. Use vibrant and retro colors to make the character visually appealing.

c. Create the character's 1950s dress, taking inspiration from the fashion of that era. Ensure that the dress is well-detailed, and use colors that resonate with the nostalgia of the 1950s.

d. Position the character so that they are holding a mixing bowl in a natural and comfortable manner. Make sure the mixing bowl is proportionate to the character's size.

Step 4: Typography

Select a vintage-style font for your business name or slogan that complements the overall theme of my logo. Place this text strategically near, on side or below the character.

Step 5: Color Palette

Choose a color palette that reflects the 1950s aesthetic. Consider pastel shades, such as mint green, baby blue, or soft pink, combined with classic neutrals like cream or beige. Ensure that the colors you select harmonize with my character and typography. I prefer the use of pink and yellow.

Step 6: Refinement

Review your design carefully, paying attention to details, proportions, and overall balance. Make any necessary adjustments to enhance the overall look and feel.

Step 7: Test Variations

Once we agree on final design...
Create variations of logo to see how it appears in different sizes and formats. Ensure it remains visually appealing and recognizable whether it's scaled down for a business card or enlarged for a billboard.

Step 8: Finalize and Save

Once you and I satisfied with the design, save it in various formats, including high-resolution PNG and vector formats like SVG. This ensures I have the flexibility to use your logo in different contexts.
