We are reviewing the designs with our team and should be letting people know by Friday. Thanks for all the wonderful entries! There are some diverse approaches and it's going to be difficult to choose. Just keep in mind that the ratings will be based upon your adherence to our requirements, and our general feeling about the overall design. Different designs speak in different ways to different people, so just because a design rates low to us doesn't mean it's bad - just that it may not meet our criteria. Feel free to put private comments on designs if you want to further describe how they would work or if they have any "special features".

The contest is still open... I have not selected a design. There are several good ones, but no single one has jumped out at me yet and said "Pick me!"

Just an FYI... I expect this contest will extend for a few more days beyond this extension... there was a freelancer issue with the extension.

And one other note... think about knowing a hurricane or typhoon is coming. You want more info and to talk to people about it. You go to disaster.com. How would you use the site? What would you like to see at the top? How much information? Now think about an earthquake hitting your area. You get out your phone. You visit disaster.com. What would you like to see? How would you like to access information? Consider all of this with your designs. Also - I like the designs that integrated the green color from the logo better, and the ones that figured out how to place advertising (in a good way) on the site in several areas (not just 2 or 3 spots). I'm not looking to be all about advertising, but this and affiliate connections will be how I'll pay to keep the site running. News and forums are most important... but advertising pays the bills (but it CANNOT look bad due to lots of advertising).

Hi all - I've extended the contest. I'm sorry for those who rushed to get it in, but I had a few people message me that they have designs they want to submit. Also, there are a couple of designs that I'd like to see modified a bit. I'll post some more feedback in a few hours.

Hey, I submitted #19 for the contest. I have an example of how the responsive would look on a phone if you are interested in seeing. The issue is I don't want to submit another entry to show you. If you are interested please let me know how I can get it to you for you to see. Thank You!

Hi All - I really appreciate the work being put into these. Each one looks good. They all seem "inside the box" though... you look at them and can tell they are in Wordpress or a CMS. I'd love to see something a little special. Something that people look at and say... "That's cool". Design plays such a big part in people's feeling about a site. I know that, ultimately, we have to get the design to work inside Wordpress, and that it needs to support being responsive... but think about it. I always enjoy going to inspiration sites like Speckyboy and seeing some of the things they point at. Think about how we can get something both special and functional/usable put together. If your hometown was crushed by a tornado and you wanted updates and information on how to get help, what would you want to see? What's important?

I did red your all comments and make it as per your comments. For Responsive websites once it goes to short screen menus will come at drop down and right hand cloumn will goes down. For making it Responsive offcourse CSS work required that will be conditional CSS3. Please provide me your feedback on that.
Waiting for the response.
