  I like where you all are going with this. It would be good to incorporate more of the Wordpress/Facebook style into the theme - thinner header that is more clean cut. Also, having some sort of bg graphic of the building might be nice lower down. Something that reminds people of travel but is not too obnoxious.
  Also, not sure about how this would work with the rest of the site: the deal pages. The deal pages are the ones that really need to be designed as the map is simply the deal page minus the deals but with a map.
  Here is the main deal page: http://www.terratip.com/deal/livedeals/
  Try to choose nice, interactive and clean colors. Currently it is a blob of grays and needs a fresh layout. Groupon's deal app is a great example of clean cut layout.
  Also, the blues are little too powdery. Richen them up a bit.
  Focus on the deal pages and the map overlay will take care of itself.

     I man o offense, but thnk, your design, focuzmust be on the map, the other elements shouldmnot ocuppy too much spac e asin yours, but at the same time it shouldnt be gigantic, check #1 itsbetter, and simple. and to much decorations and all are not requied for a professional site, ust a tip to imprve your design
