Contest Brief

Assignment: Write a deep, heartfelt and newsworthy crowdsourcing campaign description for a previously middleclass but now desperate, ill, impoverished disabled man that has become all of the above trying to save his wife and 7 year old son from a life of poverty and misery after being pushed off the cliff into rock bottom by our corrupt manipulated economy.

This family should be the poster family for all that is wrong with America today, and it is up to you to write the short story (2 pages or less is probably best) that is worthy of nationwide attention but most importantly gets them heartfelt funding that they need to recover and heal and maybe be around long enough to tell the whole story that the world should hear.

It is important to note that this man’s story and all the information you will be provided is absolutely and 100% true and it can and will be proved so with plenty of photos and documentation when time appropriate.

The story is easily book worthy and is also the makings of a primetime movie (horrific) but that is not our intended purpose of this crowdsourcing campaign.

The intended purpose of this crowdsourcing campaign is to give this man a chance at healing, getting some desperately needed sleep/rest, medical attention, physical rehabilitation, detox from the pain medicine that is helping to kill him faster than most of us realize. Plus his wife will need to take time off of her part time minimum wage job to help him and take care of their child.

The ultimate goal should always be kept in the forefront when writing this description that should tug on heartstrings and bring tears to the eyes of even the most hardened unsympathetic beings in our world. We all want change in our world but if we don’t help our friends and even strangers in desperate need we will never get there.

This family deserves our attention.

We have attached a zip file with several documents enclosed; they are full of information, details, and failed attempts at writing this description ourselves. We suggest reading the recent document first (#15) and then go backwards (#14, #13, #12, Etc.) as these are the most recent, but the more detailed information is located in the earlier documents.

We also suggest that you take a look at youcaring.com and indiegogo.com to get an idea of how other successful campaigns were written.

If you end up being the winner of this contest you will not only win the prize money but it is very possible that you will be hired to modify your document to make it even better, and if you our campaign is successful you will receive nice tip as well.

btw. The financial goal of this campaign will be $25,000 to $50,000 or more depending on the quality of the description, and the money will be used as mentioned above.

Also, to give you an idea of what kind of man you are writing this for he said that if he is ever allowed to heal and recover and if he gets a strong sign of support that he wants to start his own charity to dedicate the rest of his life helping others in need, and especially those that have also been pushed off the cliff so that he can keep as many people as possible from ever having to live in the same kind of misery that he and his family has endure.

We understand that this is a pretty tall order but we feel that $100 is pretty fair for a two page story, but we also understand that going through the attached documents is going to be the hardest part.

Thanks to all of you that participated in this contest, I know that it's a bummer to put your heart, time, and energy into something and for some not get the payoff. But you did help me through the first step of this process and I will remember that, and will keep you in mind as this campaign goes forward and for other things as well.
