Contest Brief

I am looking for a (CRM ?) solution - for a very small outfit (one or two users).

We manage companies / entities - and are looking for a software that will:

(i) get graphic display of investments and holdings; (ii) see who the people involved are + have their information and function; (iii) what the corporate assets are; (iv) log of actions taken (resolutions issued; funds transferred; etc.); (iv) ability to integrate data from a bank accounts and other third parties and to include additional data - so as to produce Balance Sheets; (v) recording of time on each matter; (vi) recording of expenses incurred for each matter / client; (vii) repository of the underlying documents mentioned in the various sections / fields / notes etc.

Probably need open architecture.
If need to build on other programs - should use open programs readily available; not purchased.

I'd recommend that you have a look at SugarCRM Community Edition.
It has the *potential* to do all the things you list - however, you might need someone with php skills to customize the individual features.

Much of the work can be done by an administrative user, which means you can possibly set it up yourself (or get someone to set it up for a lower cost) - and then put in specific projects for each of the customizations.

(I'm happy to help out by discussing or pointing you in the right direction, but for that budget, I won't be able to justify doing the actual coding... but I can point you to help documents so you can try doing it yourself...)

you are clearly looking for a lot for your money... are you committed enough to see it through... it will take an age and be very stressfull for all concerned... your final system could take much longer than you ever imagined to complete!

Is there not a commercial application that fits your needs? Are you looking for a web solution or a Windows application? Is that your minimal budget, 250.00? That is a lot of functionality for such a minimal budget. I'm thinking in the range of $1000 - $1500 for such a customized solution.
