We need a service-based programm for linux, that could control one or more local soundcards. Each soundcard is a own "zone". So we need a player for each zone. The player should play local stored audio-files and webradio. We would control everything via http / webbrowser. Configuration could be done via XML-Files. As library we would prefer the libvlc, but we also open for others if that give sense. When a song is playing, it should display the title, artist and album, and the actual votes. And buttons for voting. This should come from another URL.
