Project Description

I am building an application for autistic children I draw all the pics myself but have little to no knowledge with Java or Android, it shows story slides eg: going to school, taking a bath, it make noises throughout and has some spelling and number games inside and all is great minus a couple of minor hiccups I plan to solve with threads or async task but there are two add ons I need help with the first is the main part, it is a sentence maker, the idea is the child can make up sentences using images that are stuck on a Velcro strip of card, such as I want or I feel and then other images like drink or happy would be stuck side by side to say for example 'i want','drink'
My plan of attack was to have an image view at the top to represent the Velcro strip and then image buttons underneath with onClickListeners that change the images when one is selected, so first show image buttons 'I want' and 'I feel' and then if clicked show clicked image in top image view and new images drink and happy underneath where the old images wrre, I've managed to do this but my process is long and tedious calling a lot of seperate activities, an extra function of this should be the ability for the user to change the images
The second part is slightly trickier I want to create a light board, simply a screen full of led looking lights that turn on and follow the users finger on touch giving off different colours to the surrounding pixels, extra functions for this should include change colour, random colour, explosions and shapes, so anyone with good understanding of renderscript would be a huge plus unless people think canvas would work, and please as stated I am a rank amateur and I'm open to any and all suggestions
