Hi, I want someone to build me a trading bot which will connect to an API with the simple goal of incrementally increasing its position in the associated commodity. It simply needs to have an increase week on week. Although we would love that increase to be 10% per week, we would of course be happy with 0.1% I need a brilliant mathmatical mind with someone who can work with statistics, programming and maybe a bit of economics too. Anyone interested please apply within.

I currently run a team of four computer scientists specializing in trading algorithms and software for finance. I appreciate that you don't have unrealistic goals, (100% per week, like some posts) and we would be glad to work with you once we discuss some of the details. Best, Joseph

Hi Dualgroup. The essential bid for a trading bot focusing on one equity / future / interest rate process is the ARMA or ARIMA process calibrated to the historical data. The calibration algorithm looks for the size of the algorithm, estimates the parameters and then provides both a maximum forward estimate and a variance. The statistical algorithm for choosing takes the current position, the future estimated position and the potential gain. When I worked in the commodity trading house there were algorithms on variance (non-Gaussian), joint distribution with other floor products, weighting algorithms and unusual methods like pattern recognition. The second part of the project consists off estimating the data and the connection with the API. My contribution will be the algorithm, an Excel spreadsheet for testing and a possible API (recommend possibly Reuters as their data is rather complete). This is my first project.

I've actually studied all three - statistics, programming and economics and have in the past created brilliant stuff that needed heavy ideation and problem solving just as I think this one will. More importantly, I trust myself to be capable of solving this problem.
