Project Description

Hi

I would like a program developed using an existing program as a guide for what I am hoping to achieve. I do not have any source files for the existing program and it is only there to help you see what I would like created and for you to enhance, improve and build upon.

The program is essentially a structural engineering program that calculates and helps builders choose beams to be used in construction. There isn't a great deal of data input where only a basic library of structural beams needs to be added.

The process is simple and needs to be simple to attract the right target market. Domestic small builders who need help in choosing structural elements for their building project.

They open the program, the are presented with an interface where they can input basic details about the size of a structural opening and the span of beam required, the loads that will be imposed on the beam, the bearings that the beam will rest on ETC. From here the program will choose the correct beam to use given the information entered by the user.

There will also be an option for the user to work out the correct timbers to use for floor and ceiling joists.

You will have to study the program I have in my possession, mirror the concept and improve upon it making it extremely user friendly. There will also need to be a help file for the users to access. I have the ideas if you have the skills to pull this project off!

NB: I have entered as a small project. I don't know how to be exact with the pricing / timescales for this so please make suggestions if you need to.

Thanks.
