Project Description

design and implement a PIR based person counting system, using the Raspberry PI board.
The system will count the number of people entering a room by moitoring the output of a PIR sensor. However, there are problems with this technique. Even though the sensor is narrow beam (spot) type, the sensor is likely to give multiple pulses for each person passing it. Some way of supressing these extra pulses must be found; if the resultant count is to be accurate.
You may use a mixture of c code and unix scripts to implement the system.

Minimum spec

the program must :
Receive pulses from a PIR and increment a person count.
Display the results to a the command line and the [url removed, login to view] webpage.
Send an electrical signal to lock the door (or illuminate a “no entry” light) when the room is full.
Produce a warning that the room is nearly full, to the webpage
Provide some mechanism to ignore multiple (false) pulses.

A DOCUMENT SHOULD BE CREATED CLEARLY OUTLINING HOW THE PROGRAM WAS CREATED, CODING MUST BE FULLY COMMENTED!!!!
