We are hiring a content writer to perform to the services outlined in the specifications. You must have experience playing video games.
The provider will complete all of the following tasks as outlined below for the Nintendo Wii gaming platform.
All Nintendo Wii content will be rewritten from the following sections on [url removed, login to view], and ign.com.
[url removed, login to view]
[url removed, login to view]
[url removed, login to view] has almost all cheats that are on and ign.com.
Guides, Walkthroughs, and FAQs will be copied from [url removed, login to view](only the general FAQs) and [url removed, login to view] with the author's permission. The author usually states at the top or bottom of the guide whether or not any site can post it. If the author requests that you ask permission before posting it, then send them an email requesting permission from email@example.com. The emails will be sent out after all other tasks have been completed.
You will search each game title on youtube for videos which demonstrate how to complete certain parts of the game. Only add the video with at least a 4 1/2 star rating. If the game title is also a movie or unrelated results are showing up, the add "game" to the search string. So for the game "The Godfather", search for "The Godfather game".
There are some video walkthroughs which are part of a series for ex. [url removed, login to view] Only add the first video of walkthrough series. In the video description text, write a brief description of the video and then "This video is part of a series. Press play and click inside the video to view the complete series."
To add a video in the admin, select "Add Video" and copy and paste the embed code from youtube. Always use the smallest resolution available. Select "Show Border" and "Enable Delayed Cookies". Use the following color themes for each platform:
Game files will be downloaded from GameFAQs and uploaded through the admin. Most games do not have any files. Download 1-2 files for games that do have saved game files. In the submission title write the type of saved game file and the location it works for. Only upload North America or Europe files. If a game has both North America and Europe files, then download 1 of each. Some saved game files use certain interfaces such as the PS2 Codebreaker or Max Drive. Make sure to inlcude the interface if any.
Each game has a Q & A section. Rewrite one to two questions for each game from GameFAQs ex- [url removed, login to view] Try to find a question that has a lot of answers and rewrite only the ones that look the most intelligent. One answer can be accepted by the question creator. Accept the answer that is accepted on GameFAQs for about half of the questions you add. Leave the other half of the questions open.
2. Rewriting Cheats:
No cheat should be verbatim with any cheats from the websites which they are rewritten from. It is alright if a simple worded sentence within a three or more sentence cheat is verbatim. Sentences with more complex words should be re-written. Only the facts should be rewritten; any extra information or opinions should be exlcuded.
Many cheats on cheatcc and ign are already in the database. However, these were poorly rewritten and should be replaced. If a game has cheats that are not on cheatcc or ign, they should be rewritten in order to keep a consistent style/format.
Cheats that are in the following format should be converted into a table:
Unlockable 1 - Code 1
Unlockable 2 - Code 2
Unlockable 3 - Code 3
Unlockable 4 - Code 4
There is a feature in the administration that allows you to highlight text that is in this format, and instantly convert it into a table.
The first column should contain what is being unlocked. The second column should be how to unlock it. The only exception is when there is when for ex. the how to unlock column lists an order of events. Here is an example for when the how to unlock texts should be in column 1:
Complete Level 1 - Cheat 1
Complete Level 2 - Cheat 2
Complete Level 3 - Cheat 3
Complete Level 4 - Cheat 4
Here is another example where there is an order of events:
25 XP - Unlockable item 1
50 XP - Unlockable item 2
100 XP - Unlockable item 3
200 XP - Unlockable item 4
Above the tables should display what the unlockables are and how each is unlocked. For example "Unlock the listed item by completing the corresponding task:", or "Activate the listed cheat function by entering the corresponding password at "Main Menu" > "Cheats:". In the case where there is an order of events and the how to unlock is in column 1 it would be for the above examples "Reach the listed level to activate the corresponding cheat:" or "Get the listed amount of XP to unlock the corresponding item:". Always use a ":" at the end of these sentences.
When all of the items that are unlocked are of the same type, such as "Unlockable costumes", then display the word "costume" after each item so for ex.
Ryu's costume - How to unlock
Ken's costume - How to unlock
Blanka's costume - How to unlock
The column titles of the tables can be edited. The following are common column title pairs:
"Unlockable" and "How to Unlock"
"Cheat" and "Code"
Just use your best judgement when deciding column titles.
4. Navigation text format
Navigation of screens in the game should be displayed in the following format:
"Screen 1" > "Screen 2" > "Screen 3".
So for ex:
Activate the listed cheat by entering the corresponding password at "Main Menu" > "Bonus Content" > "Unlockables".
5. Controller buttons:
Controller button images can be added to cheats. They should be used in place of controller button text.
7. Alternate titles:
Some games have alternate titles. For ex. at [url removed, login to view] it displays "Note: This game is also titled Biohazard." In the admin, alternate titles can be added for games. So in addition to adding or updating the game "Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil", include the alternate title of "Biohazard". Also, games that start with "The" should have an alternate title that starts with the next word of the game so that users can look it up under both letters. For ex, the game "The Godfather 2" should have an alternate title of "Godfather 2, The".
8. Duplicate games:
Any games that are listed more than once should be removed. Also, games such as the collector's edition, or any other "edition" of a game should be removed.
There are many games I added twice because there was previously no feature that allowed me to add alternate titles. Mose of these games begin with "The". Check all games that begin with "The" and delete any duplicates.
9. Game covers:
While editing the games, check to make sure that each game cover is for the correct game and platform. If a game cover is incorrect, then download the correct one from [url removed, login to view] and replace it. Download the larger game cover image which pops-up when you click on the game cover image. If you cannot find the game cover on [url removed, login to view], perform a google image search for it. Download a cover that is at least 400x400 pixels and less than 125kb.
In the administration, you can create "fake" usernames. When adding a cheat in the admin, you will be able to select the username as "default" or "fake". When "fake" is selected, it will add the cheat as submitted by one of the "fake" created users. Create 200 believable fake usernames. Try to make most of them creative. When adding the cheats, select "fake" about 80% of the time. Select "default" the other 20% of the time. Selecting "default" will add the cheat as submitted by user "gamingcheats".
11. Randomizing dates:
When adding cheats for a game in the administration, select "randomize dates". This will post a fake submission date for each added cheat.
Each cheat on [url removed, login to view] can be rated by selecting "game on" or "no game". Try to group together related cheats such as a list of unlockables so that they can all be rated together.
For cheats which contain lists, use the singular form when describing them.
If you think that any of the rules detailed here will inhibit the users understanding of it, use your best judgement.
Try to keep the cheat engaging without using too many extra words or sentences.
The current cheats database was imported from the current gamingcheats.com. Each cheat was separated by the bold tags which were used for each cheat title. Some cheats might have bold tags within the cheat description. I have only found one ex here with the "[" and "}" cheat titles that were originally part of the cheat description for the "Result-How-to" cheat- [url removed, login to view] Some games may have empty cheats that should be removed. Remove or correct any cheats that are not displaying correct.
I have already rewritten all PS3 cheats which are found at [url removed, login to view] Some PS3 games are also available for Wii, and do not need to be rewritten because the cheats are the same. The admin section has a feature which allows you to assign cheats to the same game on another platform. The only exception where a cheat should not be assigned to another platform is if it contains controller buttons since the controller buttons are different for each platform; The PS3 controller buttons will need to be converted into the assigned platform's controller buttons. The PS3 trophies should not be assigned to any other platforms.
I have also rewritten the 50 most popular Wii games. The following games do not need to be rewritten. They still must be added through the admin. The controller buttons and table text will need to be converted. You will still search for videos, FAQS/Guides, Files, and Q&A for them.

14. The development team has not finished developing features necessary to add cheats in the administration. In the meantime, the provider will rewrite the cheats using a text editor and save them on their computer. When development is completed, the Client will notify the provider, and the provider will then add saved cheats through the administration as outlined above.
