Project Description

Fairly easy data entry job. I currently have 4400 artist/song titles that require a description. The expected data will come from Wikipedia and (in most cases) will be the first couple of paragraphs of the track description plus the web address of the page that the information came from.

A straightforward entry currently takes between 30 and 45 seconds to
1) Copy song title and artist,
2) paste into Wikipedia search,
3) select the the entry that relates specifically to that song/artist
4) Copy URL from Wikipedia to the database entry page (which is on Facebook)
5) Copy first and second paragraphs of Wiki description
5)Paste into data entry page
6) Quick edit to remove the notes [1][2][citation needed] type entries.
7) Make sure length of entry does not exceed size of entry box (about 850 characters), by editing out irrelevant sentences.
8) Submit entry.
then on to next title.

Obviously there are more complex entries (cover versions of songs and songs that do not have their own page). Initiative should be used to create an entry for these items with a fall-back entry for any title that cannot be found, however, I will require a list of those where the fall-back entry was used.

You will not be expected to read the entries, other than the ones that are too long to fit in the description box, where one or more sentences will need to be removed.

From the entries I have completed (about 500) none have taken more than 5 minutes, most take 30-45 seconds. This is probably about 10 hours solid work.

All entries will be in English.
