I would like to manufacture some LED bicycle lights that produce a unique arc in a similar shape to the bicycle wheels for 360 degree visibility. See [url removed, login to view] There is also detailed installation instruction videos included on the site. Unfortunately they cost $250 USD + shipping and are not available worldwide. I would like to have a few units manufactured for about $50 each (for the parts). I would like the lighting system to function the same as they do on the website. I would also like some sort of indicator to show how much charge remains in the battery. I won’t give too many specifications because you can get them from the website.

There is one key difference you will need to implement. In additional to functioning the same way as the lights, you are to incorporate a magnetic induction system (See [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view])which can be used to recharge and extend the battery life and power the lights. This could connect to the USB input. The magnetic induction system will be an optional extra that users can choose to install separately. The lights will work with or without the induction system, that is they can still run straight from the battery.

The main requirement from you is the design and the programming to enable the light to remain in the stable arc position at any speed. The arc must also remain stable when the bike is at rest. I also need advice on what hardware would work best. I have done some research and a possibility could be using the Arduino microcontroller board. The device needs to be powered by a lithium battery and charged via USB. (See the first website link above) You will need to provide schematic drawings of how the circuitry connects to the sensors and lights as well as installing the software.

You will need to provide a complete guide with high quality parts (bright LED lights), program code, video of a working prototype and installation tutorial. I need to be able to build this myself and have the option to give the design to a manufacturer. The construction guide needs to be simple for and for a beginner. I am looking to have a few units made in China. This needs to be a PROFESSIONAL DESIGN not just a simple mock-up. Keep in mind that there will be two setups, one for the front white lights and one for the rear red lights. You are free to provide various solutions as long as I can assemble from AFFORDABLE and READILY AVAILABLE parts. I would prefer not to manufacture my own parts if possible.

If you would like me to consider you bid you will send me a message giving a basic outline of how you will tackle the project. I won’t be accepting Cut and Paste “I can do it” bids without any descriptive information. I would like to see some evidence of previous work that is relevant to this project. Bids less than $500 would be good but please advise if you believe this is an unrealistic budget.
