Project Description

I am looking to grab recently arrested info from the Maryland Judiciary website. As it it right now, I can go to the site enter my criteria and it will return a series of results that I have to click on each one and manually get the defendants infomation( Name, Address, Charges, etc...)each defendant may be listed multiple times if there are several charges. The big issue is that I have to specify at least the first letter of the last name. So I have to run each search 26 times, 1 for each letter of the alphabet, for my date range. If the query exceeds 500 records the site will truncate the results so for some of the larger query's they may need to be broken up more to gather all results.

I want a form that I can just put in a date range and specify if I want Criminal or Traffic data and it will conduct the search for me, for each letter of the alphabet and rather than displaying it all on screen, it should output to MS Excel. The data will also require some formatting so that I can easily perform a mail merge from excel. I currently have this program created in Java, it needs to be updated to deal with the large search truncation issue. I unfortunately don't have the source and the original programmer is no longer available for updates.

I have attached a sample output file from the current program.

The Maryland Judiciary website is located here: [url removed, login to view]

This does not need to be done in java I am open to suggestions. I will require that I get a copy of the source code. This would be Windows 8 compatible.
