Project Description

I hired an online programmer to write some macros for my student grade book project but it was designed with a flaw that needs fixing.

(File Attached)

As you can see on the "Export to FM Pro"sheet there are two macros:

The "Convert" macro works fine and has the job of converting assignment names on the "7th grade" and "8th grade"sheets to a naming code that will sync with my Filemaker Pro database.

The problem is with the other macro called "Get". It is supposed to bring over the data on "7th grade" and 8th grade" sheets onto the "Export to FM Pro" sheet and then calculate the averages for each student by category.

The problem is that the "Get" macro only brings over grades extending out to the CY column. In other words, any grades beyond this range get left behind on the "7th grade" and "8th grade" sheets. Hence, the programmer set the ranges too small.

In sum, I am looking for you to expand the range so more grades can be entered and worked on by the "Get" macro. Ideally the macro would be set to take extend out to the max allowed in Excel which is I think 65539. If that is not doable and the macro must be set to a much more limited range then we can chat about that.

Anyhow, here are the details of the workflow I use as mentioned to the original programmer in case you need to know:

I enter students grades into Skyward first. Later I export them as an Excel file. Then I copy and paste the data from here onto the "import from skyward" sheet inside the excel project workbook that has your macros.

Next I copy and paste the "import from Skyward" data into the respective gradesheets for 7th and 8th grade which prepares/groups the data to have the assignment names converted by the "Convert Macro".

Finally, on the "Export to FM Pro" sheets for 7th and 8th grade I use your "Convert" and "Get" macros to first convert the grade assignment names to A1.., B1....., C1.... D1....., E1...., F1......,Effort1.....

The glitch here is that you set the "Grab" macro to work with a range that is too small to capture all the grades when the total number of grades for all categories runs beyond the CY column(in essence I am limited to about 24 grades the way it is now).

Basically, the "Convert" macro works fine. Its that the "Grab" macro will not retrieve/bring over all the grades from the 7th and 8th grade sheets to the "export to FM Pro" sheets:::::it stops at column CY
