Hi

I have a client who is putting together trading cards for ringtones
They would be for brochures, logo, web design, trading cards, business cards


Company Flash Entertainment here in Las Vegas specializes in making
entertainment trading cards with access to mobile accesories such as ringtones and wall paper for cell phones.

The Project -

This case study will follow a group of Las Vegas business investors
wanting to put images of Hip-Hop artist, along with access to wireless
applications such as wallpaper, games, and ringtones on trading cards.
Given the name Flashcardz their aim is to mass distribute these cards
in the steady growing market of Hip-Hop consumers. The group extensively researched their local markets to determine whether both genders of consumers (ages 10 - 19) as well as adults would purchase the collectables.
The resounding answer of this extensive research was yes and they now
wanted to investigate the financial feasibility of the project.
The initial licensing research had determined that the image licensing
company would sustain a volume of up to 5000 images at 5 cents a copy
to be printed on the cards.
It was on this basis that part of the business was assessed.

The Research -

Through research it was obvious that the market for hip-hop
represented products are constantly on the rise, as well as the sales
of wireless applications.
Documented information was not hard to find.
Research showed trading cards made $66 million in 2002 and $78 million
in 2003.
A big part of Flash is represented through the ringtones they carry,
sale figures for ring tones in 2002 were $16 million and jumped to $80
million in 2003, with expectations of a seven billion dollar industry
by 2007. With 19 million consumers between the ages of 12 to 17
carrying mobile cell phones, research shows that more than half the
consumers are fans of hip-hop music, which makes them the target market for this product.
Although we intend to replicate the sports card trading model, Flash
will be the first of its kind in the industry.
Information that will be collected within the first year of operation will not only create benchmark information but also provide a better understanding of how our target market is greatly influenced by technology and the music they listen to.
Flash will provide Hip-Hop images and associated wireless
entertainment at affordable prices, while giving the consumer a
tangible product in which they may collect or trade.
This will offer consumers a substitution for purchasing ringtones on
the Internet, which are not competitively priced.
The customer will have the opportunity to obtain wireless applications
without the use of a credit card, which should increase sales
dramatically, being that young consumers who would like to purchase
ringtones in their pre-credit years, and some consumers would like to
purchase but have no credit.
The premise put forward by Flash Entertainment was that if the business could operate while working entirely in the competitive Commodity/Collectables Market, then it would thrive in the local market.
