Project Description

We are looking to manufacture a simple acrylic enclosure for a new electronics device, using a 4-piece layered sheet approach. The sheets will be locked into place by 4 x nylon bolts (one on each corner of the rectangular box).

For an example of a similar approach please see [url removed, login to view] - noting that this is much more complicated than our proposed enclosure which is essentially a rectangular box with two holes.

Dimensions
The box will have the following dimensions:

1200mm (L) 800mm (W) x 800mm (H)

Acrylic Panels
The internal acrylic sheets will be 20mm thick x 3 - creating the 60mm high internal walls.
Top and bottom panels will be 10mm each taking total height to 80mm.
Internal walls to be 10mm thick --- allowing for bolt holes to be drilled at each corner.

Vents/Feet
Vents will need to be cut into the bottom panel.
The bolts holding the bolts will act as feet, providing sufficient clearance to allow airflow to get under the device.
The top panel will be cut with our logo --- adding a little extra ventilation from the top.

Holes
At one end we will require a centred and recessed hole to allow for HDMI port.
At the other a recessed hole for a micro USB port (for connection to charger).

Colours
The 20mm internal sheets will be polished white (or black) acrylic.
We will use the top and/or bottom panels to add colour - and will need mock-ups of various colour schemes.
