Project Description

Request for Proposal

This is a commercial quality social networking site project with high quality expectations. Only commercial bids will be entertained from real firms. If your company is operated from your home and you have a day job, we are not interested in your bid. We are seeking bids from firms with adequate resources, experience and project references for similar highly interactive complex projects. This project is funded and is ready to proceed immediately once a bidder is selected. When bidding please keep in mind the following things: The development timeline for this project is not expected to happen in a very short period of time. However, with your bid, please propose your expected timeframe for full completion of all phases of the project keeping in mind that we are seeking a reasonable timeframe, not an expedited one. Once a bid is selected you will be expected to hold to the proposed timeline. The winning firm will be expected to manage the project on a turnkey basis. Our firm will not act as a project manager for the project. You must supply in house: Project Management, Design, Development, Testing and Implementation. You will interact with our firm as if we are the non-technical customer (in other words--we will tell you what we want and if it looks good to us, but we will not tell you how to do it or manage the project for you). This lack of Project Management is a major challenge on projects we outsource overseas, this project will expect your Project Management to be of very high-quality. We expect this project to be mostly "hands-off" for us.

As stated above this is a commercial project (based in USA) with commercial quality standards. We will provide assistance with the English used in the site to make sure it sounds correct to a USA person.

The scope of work is summarized in the brief narrative below and is elaborated on the attached scope of work document. The project will be done in four phases with milestone payments after each phases is delivered. We are open to negotiation on structuring a down-payment to secure the start of Phase 1.

Phase 1: Functional Design- Project will be fully mocked up in Axure RP or similar prototyping tool. Functional design will include functional elements as well as any needed "sales text" or "explanatory text" copy needed to make the site sales process and functionality understandable/compelling for the user. (Note--Since much of the project functionality will be based on phpFox's built-in (pre-existing) functionality, only the newly developed (custom) functionality will need to be prototyped. Parts of the phpFOX functionality that will not be modified/added to will not need to be prototyped. However these screens will still need to be mocked up in a PSD file wireframe style showing all "sales text" or "explanatory text" that is planned for that page along with any other design elements on the page. So the deliverable for Phase 1 will be a full design package, that shows the entire planned layout of the site in wireframes (for non-customized base part of phpFOX) and full functional prototype (for customized/add-on modules to phpFOX. Design package will be delivered for approval/revision until approved. Once approved, milestone payment will occur.

Phase 2: Visual Design- Add all visual elements of design work to the functional prototype (provided in phase 1) and also to the wireframes (also provided in phase 1). The Phase 2 deliverable will be a complete visual design for the site. The visual design will be consistent with a high-end look very similar to Facebook in appearance. Noteā€”Logo work for the project is already done and will be provided for use in the design work. Once approved, milestone payment will occur.

Phase 3: Functional Development- Convert the approved functional and visual design to a coded/configured working site. This is expected to be the longest phase in the timeline. Deliverable will be a working site that meets all of the project goals for the following criteria: look, functionality, quality, ease of use/understandability and high commercial appeal. Once approved, milestone payment will occur.

Phase 4: Testing and Implementation- For this phase the site will be thoroughly tested/debugged through an acceptable QA Process. Since this is a brand new site, this testing/debugging can be done live on the internet at the real domain. Once the project is awarded the winning company will submit a QA Plan for our approval. That approved QA plan will be used for the testing and debugging. Once debugged, the final testing report will be submitted for our approval. Once approved the project will be considered complete and the final milestone payment will occur.

Please note: This is an adult social networking site that will feature sexually explicit content and nudity.
When bidding please make your bid as the total project price, and then explain your proposed milestone payments. Please also refer to the attached Scope of Work Document. Clearly state any assumptions. The phpFOX license will be provided to you at no cost.

Brief Scope of Work (See attached scope document for more detailed scope):

Modify the phpFOX social networking script to create an adult social networking site of very high commercial quality. Manage the project mainly turnkey with only very basic project management assistance from our firm consisting of no more than 2-3 hours per week on our end for basic reviews and approvals and/or answering questions. This will be a pay-to-participate site and rather extensive custom add/ons and modifications will be required as well as high-end design work. Please see the attached Scope of Work Document for detailed info on the required functionality. As noted at the beginning of this Request for Proposal only commercial bids from real companies will be entertained. That requirement is to ensure quality, adequate resources and on-time delivery.
