Project Description

Dear Freelancer members,

Our very talented team of 2 video game coders (one is also the Game Designer and the Creative Director) and 1 music composer is currently programming a 2D video game on the Unity3D engine. The game is very similar to Plants VS Zombies, both in gameplay and design. We are beginning to look for interested 2D artists to create all the game art. The theme is beach vs pirate crocodiles. We have reference images for almost everything needed, however the workload is quite hard to know yet, since the release date will depend on the features we have time to code. We are looking for somebody able to draw funny cartoon characters, and make backgrounds in the Bastion ([url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view]) artistic style. We need vivid and saturated colors, since the game is targetting a familial audience, just like Plants VS Zombies.

The artist will have at least 10 different backgrounds (stages) to create and design (stages are all about having beaches and ocean), and around 32 characters/items to animate (TNT explosive crates, rock turtle, . There will be no human characters, though; all are animals, with a good touch of fantasy. Each character needs an idle cycle animation, and an attack cycle animation only (around 3-9 frames per idle cycle, and around 4-12 images per defense/attack cycle).
There will also be maximum 15 different projectiles to do, as well as the HUD (Heads-Up Display, for menus), the main title screen, the Shop title screen (a captain in vacation, selling items on beach, much like this one in MinoMonsters: [url removed, login to view]).

The game will first be released for the PC platform, but Mac, XBox Live, iOS and Android version will follow lighting-fast (thanks to Unity's very high compatibility) if we make enough profits from the PC version.

Work would start in about 3 months, and there is no real deadline. However, we are aiming for a release within the next 6-9 months.
