Project Description

We are ready to take the Investing In Community ([url removed, login to view]) website to the next level.

The website is about matching Cohousing ([url removed, login to view]) and Cohouseholding ([url removed, login to view]) communities with private investors who wish to use their capital in socially responsible ways. In particular, the site will help values-driven investors support prospective residents who want to join communities by purchasing homes, but lack the capital to purchase either a home (for Cohousing) or a portion of a home (for Cohouseholding).

See the existing website ([url removed, login to view]) and its PDF profile forms that appear on each of the main pages; For Communities, For Community Residents, and For Investors. Our vision is to create a rich website with a (largely) database-driven interface which supports a future iteration of the profiles based on an established content management system. Minimally, it will include a database of communities, units within communities, prospective investors, and potential community residents.

I'm a retired Microsoft manager and former multimedia consultant (going way back, even before CD ROMs). I'm looking for a business that I can work with to do the whole project, this includes graphic design (logo, identity, and interface), databases, project management, etc.

I have personal experience with hands-on creation of simple brochure-ware websites using Weebly ([url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view]) and have worked with a Drupal-based system. I also worked as a marketing, program, and research manager for large websites at Microsoft.

It must use a web-based development platforms, which allows me to open and edit interface content. The website must be portable and transferable, i.e., well documented, using standard practices, avoiding proprietary systems - like Weebly :)

I'm well aware that this brief description is not a requirements document. I believe that this is a Medium Project ($1,500-3,000) and that my budget is sufficient to create a great website if you are a reasonably-priced development shop. You'll have a great deal of my attention and I'll work closely with your company to create wire frames and the actual specs once we award the contract.

I will only consider actual companies with teams that have a track record of creating great websites in their entirety. Your location is irrelevant providing we can communicate effectively in English - both written and using voice (Skype).
