Hi GAE Devs, We are looking for those of you with GAE expertise (in either Python or Java). As a first step in figuring out how best to commission/specify a large scale web app/service project, we are interested understanding your depth of understanding of GAE and your thoughts on the potential of using GAE for scalable web app development and deployment. We'd like to schedule a time to talk on the phone/skype when convenient for you to speak to you about the apps that you have developed and what you think are the strengths and weaknesses of using GAE and the GAE development/deployment model.

I like GAE, using it for my pet project, but have not expirience with large systems. Im using python enviroment and pyramid framework(I like it better than webapp2). The GAE is suitable for very popular sites with millions of user per day. The strength is that you dont need maintain many servers, a and hire sysadmins and sysarchitects. The weekness is that your app is tiyed to google, you cant change the provider. The second weaknes is that GAE enviroment is restricted, and you cant install your compiled soft.

I have been looking at AppScale as way of allowing OpenCM2 to move off of Google App Engine once it gets released. I'm also evaluating OpenShift from RedHat as well. My main concern is how GAE DataStore will be ported on AppScale. Thanks, Chris Jones
