Project Description

For this project I would like you to build a Java application which creates a Graphical User Interface which represents a crossword puzzle. The interface should allow the user to solve the puzzle by entering words in to the crossword grid.

I'll give more details about how to construct this application as a pm.

The basic framework of a crossword puzzle is a square grid containing a number of black and white squares. The puzzle is completed by filling the white squares with letters to form words or phrases reading horizontally left to right or vertically downwards. The letters must be filled according to a list of clues. Each clue is numbered according to its position in the grid and orientation of the answer word (i.e. 'across' or 'down'). It is usually the case that the number of letters which forms the answer word is given at the end of the clue in parentheses.

please see attachments for the sample
********************************************************
Write code to display the GUI - this will involve rendering the crossword grid.
Write listeners to allow the user to enter letters in to the crossword grid.
Write code for logging successfully solved clues and puzzles.
Write code for transforming a string-based text file representing the crossword in to and from a suitable Java data structure and for loading and saving puzzles and logs to the local file system.
Then try some of the extensions.

Submission Information:

Please combine all of your source files in to a single file named CrosswordApp.java. Submit this file only. Do not submit any .class files.

You do not need to submit any sample crossword files. For testing purposes, I will use my own Crossword object so it is important that you do not modify this and class Clue other than by adding to them or extending them.
