Project Description

This project is to create a working C code example that runs on the NXP LPC1768 Microcontroller to demonstrate the microcontroller's USB interface operating as a default USB MIDI device class. Should be tested on the Keil MCB1760 development board for LPC1768. Should use the NXP USB Library ([url removed, login to view])

When the microcontroller is when plugged in to a PC or Mac, the example will mean it gets recognized as a default MIDI device (recognized by the default MIDI drivers supplied with the OS), and allow the microcontroller to send and receive MIDI messages.

## Deliverables

The code delivered should show the core USB MIDI functionality and enable simple further application development of something wanting to utilize USB MIDI. The example should not include any third-party USB stack code. The example will require understanding the LPC1768 USB controller and the USB MIDI specification.

The example should be developed and run on the Keil MCB1760 development board using the Keil Uvision V4 Integrated Development Environment (free download from [url removed, login to view]). If you don't have a MCB1760 board, you will need to purchase your own (they are about $320, see [url removed, login to view] to order, so you may want to cover your cost as part of the bid).

There also likely useful references for both USB MIDI and the LPC1768 that can be found to aid understanding, such as USB examples in:
