Project Description

My company and I are seeking talented mobile developers with experience developing augmented reality based apps.

*United States and English speaking applicants only*

I'm going to attempt to put this as plainly as possible and we can discuss the actual details after we get in contact. We have a large client that is holding an event. Let's say for discretion sake that this is a dinosaur event. Visitors to the event will be encouraged to download this scavenger hunt app that asks them a number of trivia questions that they must answer all correctly in order to obtain a prize at the end. This is a two day event and covers thousands of square feet. Augmented reality markers will be placed on banners, posters, staff clothing and more. 10 total questions need to be found and answered. Pre-recorded video footage will be asking the questions with accompanying video responses to correct or incorrect answers.

The actual augmented reality aspect can be looked at in 3 different levels of complexity.
Level 1: Simple QR codes that trigger full screen video, the answers choices are presented and the game runs.
Level2: The 2D video and questions content is tracked in live 3D space to the marker. Allows the viewer to move their phone around and see the content.
Level3: Pre-recorded footage of dinosaurs is much more immersive. Content bursts onto screen and has a number of interesting animations and transitions. Same tracking in place to marker as level 2 but much higher quality content.

I will add that we will be providing all content assets needed. You're responsibility would include the augmented reality interaction and tracking, choosing answers functionality, and programming the app to store a sort of "check list" that says "yes the player got this question correct" or incorrect for all 10 questions. How the event staff recognizes that the player has completed all 10 trivia questions is still in development. This could be a simple splash screen at the end of the 10 questions that says congratulations, good job, etc.

That's the general jist of it. People walk around looking for markers. Enjoy the AR and answer questions. People find all the markers and answer all questions correctly, they win a prize. For iOS and Android now.

We are looking to get an estimate on timeline and budget necessary for a full app development like this. Please include your contact information, location, and links to any relevant examples you have worked on.

Thank you.
