Project Description

QR Pharmacy
Purpose of this app is to allow a traveler to find translations to over the counter drugs and bathroom requirements such as shampoo, toiletries, fem hygiene products …

Essentially, user photographs an item or types in some text, a cloud based app, send the photo to a selected human operator who provides a translation back to the user, based on them doing a translation, matching the image against a database etc. Stores can sign up, in which case user scans QR store code and is provided with a list of items. If list is long is should provided a hierarchical category system.

Operators will have one or more language skills. The skill level will have a ranking. Translation requests must be directed to the operator who is available with the highest ranking in that language.

Input methods
1. QR code scan
Yields a store name
2. GPS Location
Against our own data base of places
Against Google local

Yields a store name or allows a choice if multiple proximate stores

3. Text entry
a. A place name eg store, street, city, postal code

Yields a store name or allows a choice if multiple proximate stores

b. A item for translation
Yields a translation

4. Photo entry
Expected to be most common form of entry
Moveable highlight box so user can select some part of the image for translation eg like selector on google goggles.

Yields a translation
Can combine with GPS location to find Translation List

Yields a Translation

Means returns a translated item or a translation list maintained for that store. If no store specified then search against non store list of items.
A translated item is a text string and variable number of images which can be scrolled.
A list is a scrollable list of items – if one is selected then the images are available.
1st pass = against a database
2nd pass = immediate human intervention
Request for translation sent to server, causes pop-up for operators who type inn translation or do human seek of existing translation list. User is informed that someone is working on the translation. Offers some useful tips eg asprin = tylenol =
Store for future use. When stored, it must be sent to operators to translate the items into the other major languages. This can be done when operators are not servicing immediate requests. That way, for each customer entry, we fill in the language details for other languages so that on the next request we are ready for an automated response even faster.

A translated item may contain warnings, which should also be yielded back to the customer. Some religions and cultures have prohibitions on the use of certain medicinal ingredients. eg contains codeine.

Translation Language of choice
Can be changed at any time
If none chosen, then in some default languages, perhaps the default is set based on your home location.

Pay model = database is kept on phone so they can use it offline (no data usage costs)
Free model = adverts by product makers
Revenue Model = stores pay to be listed. Can maintain their own lists.
